By Sylvia Mtenga Katika falsafa za kisasa za kiroho na maendeleo binafsi, manifestation ama udhihirisho unahusishwa  na nadharia kwamba mawazo yetu yana nguvu ya kuathiri hali halisi. Hii inamaanisha kwamba kile tunachokifikiria na kukihisi mara nyingi kinaweza kugeuka kuwa uhalisia wetu. Ikiwa unalenga kwenye fikra chanya na kujenga picha nzuri kuhusu maisha yako, unaweza kuvutia hali hizo chanya kwenye maisha yako. Hii inamaana kwamba mawazo na maneno yetu yana nguvu ya kusababisha mambo kutokea ama kufanyika, hivyo ni jambo la msingi sana kama tukitilia maanani mambo tunayoyatamka ama kuyawaza. Msemo wa maneo huumba haukukosewa. Tujifunze kujinenea maneno mazuri na tutazame jinsi Maisha yetu yanavyo badilika na tunakua wenye furaha na utulivu. Kwa kuanza, hapo chini nimekuwekea maneno tisa unayoweza kujiambia kila siku, ili kuhakikisha yanakaa katika kumbukumbu za kudumu na kufanya Maisha yako kua na hisia chanya MANENO HAYO NI HAYA

Papa: Samaki Bubu Asiyelala

By Nasibu Mahinya Hakuna kiumbe anaogopeka majini kama Papa! Anapotajwa papa, vitu viwili huja akilini mwa wengi; maji na damu. Binafsi nilikuwa mmoja kati ya watu wanaoamini kwamba binadamu akikutana na papa basi amekwisha!  Cha kushangaza zaidi ni kwamba hakuna uthibitisho kuwa papa huwinda binadamu lakini humshambulia pale anapoingilia himaya yake; papa hudata na kuchanganyikiwa. Papa tunayemuogopa huchukua maisha ya binadamu mmoja tu kila mwaka, lakini ng’ombe tusiyemuogopa huchukua maisha ya binadamu 22 kila mwaka. Mwanabaiolojia wa papa kutoka Marekani, marehemu Samuel Gruber aliweka wazi kwamba papa humuogopa binadamu kuliko viumbe wengine wote kwa sababu zaidi ya papa million 73 kila mwaka huuawa kutokana na migogoro baina ya binadamu na Wanyama, na wengine huvuliwa na binadamu na kutumika kama kitoweo. Chakula kikuu cha papa ni samaki wadogo kama ngisi na viumbe vingine vya majini ingawa mara nyingi hachagui sana. Papa wakubwa hula viumbe wakubwa kama sili, pweza na taa. Meno yao ni makali kama msumeno ambao humsaidia kuwinda. Hunyata kisha hung’ata na kunyofoa kabisa sehemu ya mwili ya windo lake na kukiacha kiumbe kikivuja damu na baadaye kukirudia kipande kilichobaki akijua dhahiri kwamba, windo lake haliwezi kujiokoa tena. Kuna papa wa ajabu kweli duniani. Kuna zaidi ya aina mia tano za papa na ukiingia chini ya bahari utajionea baadhi. Hutoamini kuna papa wanaofanana na farasi, paka, mamba hadi pundamilia lakini pia kuna hadi papa mwenye kichwa kimekaa kama nyundo. Papa jike anaweza kubeba ujauzito uliochangiwa mbegu na papa dume zaidi ya wawili. Papa anaweza kuwa mjamzito kwa miaka miwili na kati ya aina mia tano za papa, asilimia 40 hutaga mayai, asilimia 60 huzaa. Huzaa eneo ambalo amezaliwa yeye, na watoto wake huwa na meno yao yote mdomoni. Papa mkubwa huota hadi meno 50,000. Pamoja na sifa hizo nyingine kwa majike ni kwamba, wanauwezo wa kutunza mbegu za papa dume ambazo hazikutumika mara ya mwisho wanajaamiana na hivyo kuzitumia kipindi ambacho papa dume hayupo. Mnyama huyo wa majini ana uwezo mkubwa wa kunusa lakini pia ana uwezo kusikia mapigo ya moyo ya viumbe wengine. Siyo papa wote huishi baharini, wengine huishi kwenye maziwa na mito mikubwa. Papa ana uti wa mgongo ambao hauna mifupa, na uti wake hutengenezwa kwa misuli na gegedu. Gegedu ni mfumo wa mifupa ambayo haijakomaa, ni kama mifupa ya mtoto mchanga. Gegedu humsaidia papa kuogelea kwa spidi na kukunja kona za ghafla pale anapofukuzia windo lake. Papa halali. Hutomkuta papa amelala usingizi hata siku moja, yeye hutulia tu na kupumzika kwenye mapango bila kuingia kwenye hali ya usingizi. Kutolala humfanya awe makini sana na mazingira yanayomzunguka ili aone hatari inapokaribia; na pia kuona fursa za mawindo zinapojitokeza. Papa ni wanyama wakongwe, wamekuwepo duniani kwa miaka milioni 850 iliyopita na hapo zamani walikuwa wakubwa sana, kiasi cha kuwa na urefu wa futi 50 na uzito wa tani 25. Hili ni kama lori lenye ‘semi trella’. Wapo pia papa wadogo wanaoweza kutosha kwenye kibakuli cha supu. Epuka kufuga papa kwenye tenki au bwawa moja na samaki wengine, atawafanya kitoweo bila kujali kwamba yeye na wenzake ni samaki wa mmiliki mmoja. Moja kati ya viumbe ambao wamenyimwa uwezo wa kutoa sauti ni papa. Ni wakimya, hawatoi sauti hata kidogo. Ububu wa papa unawafanya wasiwasiliane sana, kitu ambacho kinawafanya kuwa samaki wa kujitenga ingawaje hujumuika pamoja wakati wa kuwinda.  Tofauti na ilivyo kwa samaki wengi, papa hana magamba bali ana ngozi ila ngozi yake siyo laini, ina manundu madogo madogo kama msasa. Jinsi ya kuwaona papa: Ili kwenda kujionea maajabu ya dunia iliyopo chini ya bahari unaweza kufanya utalii wa kuzama baharini ukiwa na mitungi maalumu wa gesi yenye oksijeni. Utalii huu uwaweza kukutanisha na mnyama huyo kinara wa maji. Siku ukipata fursa ya kwenda Zanzibar au Mafia na ukafanikiwa kufanya utalii huu unaofahamika kama ‘scuba diving’; na ukafanikiwa kukutakutana na papa huko chini baharini, basi zingatia sana lugha yao ya mwili. Ukiona umeingia kwenye himaya ya papa na ukawaona wametulia na muda mwingine wakawa wanaendelea na shughuli, basi tambua kwamba hawawezi kukudhuru. Wakati mwingine wanaweza kukufuata na kucheza karibu nawe. Samaki hawa huwasiliana zaidi kwa kutumia lugha ya mwili. Tahadhari! Ukiona papa amebinjua na kutunisha mgongo wake huku akiwa ametanua gego zake basi tambua kwamba hapo unapewa onyo, ondoka mapema la sivyo utakiona cha mtema kuni!!!

Afya ya Akili: Msingi wa Ustawi wa Binadamu

By Maureen C. Minanago Afya ya akili ni kipande muhimu cha ustawi wa binadamu, ikihusisha hali ya kiakili, hisia, na tabia inayomwezesha mtu kuishi maisha yenye maana na yenye furaha. Kama ilivyo kwa afya ya mwili, afya ya akili pia inahitaji uangalizi wa kipekee, kwani inachangia pakubwa katika jinsi tunavyojikamilisha, tunavyohusiana na wengine, na tunavyokabiliana na changamoto za maisha. Maana na Umuhimu wa Afya ya Akili Afya ya akili ni hali ambapo mtu anajihisi kuwa na usawa na uwezo wa kukabiliana na msongo wa mawazo, kujiamini, na kufurahia maisha. Hali hii inaathiri uwezo wetu wa kufanya maamuzi, kudhibiti hisia, na kuunda uhusiano mzuri na watu wengine. Mtu mwenye afya njema ya akili ana uwezo wa kujifunza na kukua, na kuendelea na shughuli za kila siku bila vikwazo vya kiakili. Sababu za Athari kwa Afya ya Akili Sababu zinazoweza kuathiri afya ya akili ni nyingi na zinajumuisha: Njia za Kutunza Afya ya Akili Kutunza afya ya akili kunaweza kufanyika kupitia hatua kadhaa: Hivyo basi, afya ya akili ni msingi wa maisha yenye furaha na yenye ustawi. Kwa kujali, kuzingatia, na kuchukua hatua sahihi, tunaweza kuhakikisha kuwa tunatunza afya yetu ya akili kwa kiwango cha juu. Ni muhimu kuelewa kwamba afya ya akili, kama afya ya mwili, inahitaji juhudi endelevu na msaada wa watu walioko karibu nasi. Kwa hivyo, tuwe na umakini na afya yetu ya akili, kwani inachangia kwa kiasi kikubwa kuwa na maisha yenye maana na yenye furaha.

“Action in ignorance only recycles pain”

By Justin Mwita David “It is WRITTEN”“God revealed and it was written and it shall happen as it was written” When Jesus was arrested after being betrayed by Judas, one of His disciples cut the earof a soldier and Jesus rebuked him saying that He could ask God to send angels but Hedid not because it was written that He is captured that way. He also asked the Phariseesthat he was with them all day yet no one arrested him and here they are arresting Himlike a thief, so he said it had to happen as such to fulfill what was written (Mathew 26:5156).It is very important to understand that what was (divinely) written will always happenno matter how we feel about it or how we desire it manifest, it doesn’t matter how andwhat we want, it only matters what God’s will is. The great Harry S. Truman stated, “not all readers are leaders, but all leaders arereaders.” The quote carries multiple layers of context that we should use as a frameworkfor leadership development in every aspect of our personal and professional livesespecially the African youth. Truman knew the power of continuous learning and achievement, which is why hisreading list extends from Benjamin Franklin’s Autobiography to the ancient Stoicstudies of Plato’s Republic. Truman used the power of individual study and learning frompeople’s past mistakes to help him guide his decision making during his two terms as thepresident of the United States, which proved to be a foundational guiding principle formany to follow in his footsteps. Leaders of the 21st-century must learn from the past’s great minds to create a betterfuture. Books allow us to dive into the thoughts of those who lived before us to provideus invaluable information to help us develop solutions for our current problems. 1.) The Past Always Repeats ItselfLeaders are readers because they know they have a lot to learn from those who havelived a life before them. They also know that history repeats itself, usually taking placein a different color, shape, or form of an event. As George Santayana stated, “Those whocannot remember history are doomed to repeat it.” If we decide to neglect the past, we are actively taking steps to avoid a significantamount of information that could change our lives’ future direction. Because as WarrenBuffet said, “It’s good to learn from your mistakes. It’s better to learn from other people’smistakes.” Reading texts, articles, and books about the past can guide our thought processes andcreate a mental road map to solve today’s problems using yesterday’s solutions. Sincethe human brain hasn’t changed for over 40,000 years, it is safe to say we can still learna lot from our ancestors. Our quality of life, dependence on technology, and culturalchanges may have vastly differed from the past, but our inner thoughts and feelings arestill the same. 2.) Reading Changes Our Perspectives of LifeIt’s exciting to read about influential individuals who overcame the odds, lived their lifefrom rags to riches and seemed to defy all conspiring factors going against them. Itappeared as though they were able to overcome every hurdle placed in their way andmaster the game of life. Stories like this inspire us to be a better version of ourselves. No matter what life hashanded you thus far in your journey, history shows us that at some point in time,someone has inevitably had it far worse than you and was able to overcome it. Readinghas the power to vastly change our perspectives of life because it can humble us. Whileour narratives may be unique to us, our struggles and battles against adversity arenothing new to the human race. When we can change our perspective, we’re able to change our future. This conceptgoes even deeper than words of inspiration, as cognitive neuroscientist DonaldHoffman has worked for over 30 years on understanding how our brain’s perceptions ofreality are predominantly false, hiding our true objective potentials for reality.Reading allows us to change our outlook on life, facilitating new ways of thinking,creating, and achieving our life goals. 3.) Our Brains Remodel Through ReadingAs a leader, it is your responsibility to find innovative ways to solve problems and guideyour team to success by any means necessary. Leaders who are continuously learningand acquiring new skillsets understand the importance of being life-long learners.Much like learning a new skill or starting up a new hobby, changing how one performs atask subsequently changes our neural circuits within the brain. Reading keeps our mindactive and healthy. It also strengthens the wiring and connectivity between multipleregions involved in cognition, visuospatial awareness, and higher levels of mentalprocessing. Reading can also change how we interpret language, which can provide significantadvantages in the workplace and our personal lives. It can help us show greater empathytowards others, allowing a higher level of connection and communication within ourteam members and coworkers. And most of the circuits involved with reading areinvolved with verbal language processing and communication, which provides furtherbenefit for team building and connecting with our colleagues. Daily Readers Are The Best LeadersMuch like any activity, the more you do it, the better you become at it. Reading issomething that many may take for granted, but the few who understand the power ofreading are the ones who see the most significant benefit from it. Warren Buffet is said to spend nearly 80% of his day reading and stated he read up to600-1000 pages a day during the early days of his career as he was learning the trade.While this reading volume may be extreme, you don’t need to spend vast amounts oftime reading to get the benefits. By merely reading for 10-15 minutes a day, you will start to rewire your neural circuityand change your brain, which in turn, could vastly change the trajectory of your career.

Hofu ya kuzungumza

By Maureen C. Minanago Hofu ya mwanadamu hutofautiana kwa ukuu. Lakini sote huogopa kwa namna fulani. Hata mwenye nguvu wanamaeneo yao ya unyonge. Tuogope yote lakini tusiogope kusema ukweli inapobidi, na si ukweli tu ila kuzungumza kwa ujumla. Wapo wenye mawazo mazuri sana ambayo yasipokaliwa kimya yanaweza kuleta athari kubwa tu kwa mtu mmoja au jamii nzima.Yamkini ukambadilisha mtu / watu, ukaokoa maisha ya mtu / watu, ukapata msaada ulioukusudia au kuutamani kwa muda mrefu, ukatambulika katika familia, ukoo, eneo, nchi, bara au dunia kwa kusema kwako. Usisite, usikate tamaa, usiogope kusema sababu yule ni mtu mzima, yule ni mkali, yule ni mpole sana, yule haeleweki, yule simuamini. Usihisi labda hivi, labda vile. Sema usikike hata kama utamkwaza, hata kama utamuudhi, hata kama atakujibu vibaya, atakukaripia, atakutukana ama atakukalia kimya. Katika yote, hakika kuna ambalo litamgusa na kumbadilisha japo kidogo. Kama ni cha thamani kiseme…kitaleta mabadiliko!! Kiseme, moyo wako uridhike pia!! Katika sehemu ya tatu, kifungu cha 18 cha Katiba ya Tanzania ya mwaka 1977, tunaona kuwa kila mwanadamu anauhuru wa kuongea / kuzungumza. Kumbe basi, ni wajibu wa kila mmoja kuzungumza kile anachoona ni sahihi, ilimradi tu asiseme uongo wala kuzusha jambo. Usiogope!!

Kila lililokamilika huanza kwa uamuzi wa kujaribu.

By Maureen C. Minanago Msemo wa leo ni wa kutuhamasisha zaidi juu ya uthubutu. Chukua mfano huu mdogo. Umekaa kochini ukatamani maji ya kunywa lakini unaona uvivu kunyanyuka, hutapata maji. Kuna watu ndani unashindwa kuwaomba msaada wakuletee, hutapata maji. Umepata ila ni ya moto unahitaji ya baridi na huchukui uamuzi wowote, hutakata kiu yako. Sasa, unataka kufanikisha mipango yako ambayo pengine hujaanza hata kujipanga, hutaikamilisha. Inatakiwa ifikie wakati ambapo utasimama hata kama umechoka au hujiwezi kufedha au kimwili. Anza safari huku ukiomuomba Mungu, naye atakuimarisha ukiwa njiani na utafika salama. Fanya maamuzi haraka ya wapi uanze ama wapi upite na sio maamuzi ya kuendelea kusubiri. Bora ujaribu ushindwe kuliko usijaribu kumbe unajikosesha faida. Na ukijaribu ukashindwa usikate tamaa haraka, jaribu tena na tena mpaka utakapoona haiwezekani kabisa; ingawaje hakuna lisilowezekana kwa Mungu. Utachelewa lakini sio kushindwa. Kazi kwako… KUWA MTU MZURI LAKINI USIPOTEZE MUDA KUTHIBITISHA

Feasting to Fishing

By Justin Mwita David “A Mindset transformation journey for African youth, shifting from Dependency to Self-Sufficiency” Africa has the youngest population in the world, with over 400 million young people aged between 15 to 35 years. This demographic presents both challenges and opportunities.  The majority of African youth are caught in a dilemma that is both complex and disheartening. They are perceived to be more interested in exploiting a flawed system for personal gain rather than aspiring to build a better society. This perception is based on the metaphorical observation that they chase after those who distribute fish, indicating a preference for immediate gratification (Feasting), and turn their backs on those who want to teach them how to fish (Fishing), symbolizing a disregard for long-term self-sufficiency and societal improvement. The allure of immediate gratification, represented by the distribution of fish, is a powerful force for many young Africans. On the other hand, the disregard for long-term self-sufficiency, symbolized by turning their backs on learning how to fish, reflects a lack of interest in acquiring skills and knowledge that could lead to sustainable success and societal contribution. This mindset has significant implications for society. It perpetuates a cycle of dependency and short-term thinking that hinders societal progress and development. Empowering African youth to transition from dependency to self-sufficiency is a task that requires the collective efforts of various stakeholders and the key to unlocking the full potential of the continent’s young population lies in several areas. African youth aspirations often do not align with the current and projected labor market demands in the region. Despite this, they are increasingly taking an active role in shaping their future, disrupting traditional views of African agriculture, industry, IT, and sustainability. By investing in education, skills development, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and supportive ecosystems, we can unlock the full potential of the continent’s young population. It is time to shift the narrative from one of dependency to one of empowerment, where African youth are equipped with the tools and opportunities to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Regardless of whether you’re an educator, policy maker, parent, or a young individual, your viewpoint is invaluable. Let’s perpetuate this dialogue and collaborate to empower Africa’s youth. The actions we take today have the potential to sculpt the continent’s future. AFYA ni nini?

By Maureen C. Minanago Afya ni hali ya kutokuwa na ugonjwa au kidonda. Afya ni hali ya kuwa na amani ya roho. Afya ni ubora wa akili, mwili na nafsi. Afya hutegemea vitu hivi vitatu ili kuwa hai na salama: Akili, Mwili, Nafsi. Akili ni utashi tuliopewa na Mwenyezi Mungu katika kung’amua mambo ulimwenguni. Akili hujumuisha uelewa, ufikiri, uamuzi na utendaji wa mambo. Hakuna awezaye kutafsiri akili yetu ila matendo yetu yanaweza kumfanya mtu aone flani yuko vipi; nayo bado itakuwa mtazamo wake sababu tunatofautiana kufikiri pia.  Binadamu hutumia akili kila siku na kila wakati ili kuelewa, kufikiri, kuamua na kuhakikisha tunatimiza jambo. Kwa maana hiyo, tunapaswa kuipumzisha “PUMZISHA AKILI”. Akili ikichoka mwili nao huchoka na hutafanya chochote sababu haitakuwa na uwezo mzuri kutenda. Lala au oga au ogelea au sikiliza mziki au chochote ukipendacho ambacho hakitakufanya utumie nguvu ya akili. Mwili ni muundo wote wa binaadam. Ni maumbile ya mtu. Mwili huhusisha yote yaliyotengeneza “mtu” mfano viungo kama miguu, mikono n.k, Maji kama mate, damu n.k, na vingine kama mishipa kucha na nywele. Tunapaswa kujipenda kwa kula vizuri, kulala vizuri na pazuri, kuvaa vizuri na kujijali muda wote kwa kuuweka mwili salama mfano kwa kupiga mswaki baada ya kula, kuosha nywele mara kwa mara, kukata na kusafisha kucha, kuoga, na kuvaa nguo safi. Pia tujiepushe na hatari, ugomvi na makwazo kwa faida ya mioyo yetu.  Ukitembea sana juani pata kivuli unywe na maji. Penye baridi uvike mwili wako kwa sweta ama nguo nzito. Ukiumia au kuumwa pata matibabu sahihi kwa kwenda hospitalini. Jipende, Ujali mwili wako. Tukifanya hivyo miili yetu itakuwa salama.  Nafsi ni roho yenye kuleta imani ndani yetu. Sisi huamini vitu mbali mbali kwa msaada wa nafsi. Lakini yote heri kama tutaamini vitu vyenye kujenga na sio kubomoa. Nafsi pia hutofautiana ya mtu na mwingine ndio maana tukawa tofauti japo chimbuko letu kiuumbaji ni moja.  Nafsi nayo huhitaji utulivu ili kuupa mwili na akili nguvu za kuishi kwa afya. Pata muda wa kutulia ukiongea na WEWE kujua nini waweza fanya LAKINI, mshirikishe MUUMBA wako kwa yote kupata amani uitakayo moyoni na kwa wakuzungukao. Hivyo basi, jipe likizo au omba likizo. Tembelea sehemu mbali mbali za starehe au vivutio kutuliza mwili, akili na roho pia. Ongea vizuri na watu, cheka, tabasamu hata kama umeumizwa. Inasaidia sana.  Afya ya vitu vyote vitatu ni muhimu katika kukuweka mwenye nguvu na furaha.  Jali afya yako!

Onyesha heshima hata kwa watu wasiostahili; sio kwa muonekano wa tabia zao ila muonekano wa yako.

By Maureen C. Minanago Maneno ya Dave Willis yanakumbushia utoaji wa heshima. Waswahili wanasema “heshima ni kitu cha bure” yaani huhitaji kulipia wala kugharamia chochote kuheshimu ama kuheshimiwa ila kujiheshimu na kutoa heshima hiyo kwa wengine wote hata kama hawastahili heshima yako. Inakuwaje mtu hastahili heshima yako? Ni kwa sababu haonyeshi upendo kwako kama binadamu, sababu anakuona uko chini sana, sababu anakudharau, anakuona hufai kwake na katika maisha yake, sababu huna uwezo kifedha ama kifikra, sababu huwezi kufika alipofika, sababu hujampa alichotaka, hauna muonekano mzuri na mengine mengi. Zipo sababu nyingi lakini pamoja na yote tunapaswa kukumbuka kuwa sote ni binadamu na tunakosea. Inawezekana tukapishana leo  lakini tukumbuke dunia huzunguka, binadamu pia. Tuheshimiane kwani hatujui ya kesho, inawezekana ukamheshimu mtu leo hata kama hastahili na kesho akawa msaada mkubwa tu kwako. Lakini tukijikweza leo, kesho tutaaibika. Usimuhemu huyu ukamuacha yule ukidhani unakuwa mwema zaidi. Heshimu wote ili uonekane mwenye heshima.

Onyesha heshima hata kwa watu wasiostahili; sio kwa muonekano wa tabia zao ila muonekano wa yako. Read Post »
