Furaha ya kweli ni ya kudumu na haiyumbishwi na mambo ya nje kama vile mali, kazi, au hali za maisha. Kuwa na amani ya ndani ya moyo ni muhimu sana kwa furaha ya kweli. Hapa kuna baadhi ya mambo ambayo mtu anaweza kufanya ili kuwa na amani ya ndani: 5. Jifunze Kuishi kwa Sasa: Kuzuia mawazo ya zamani na wasiwasi wa wakati ujao na kujikita zaidi katika hali ya sasa. Mazoezi ya mindfulness yanaweza kusaidia sana katika hili. 6. Tafuta Maana na Kusudi: Kujua kusudi lako na kutafuta maana katika kile unachofanya huleta hali ya kuridhika na amani ya ndani. 7. Shukuru: Kuwa na shukrani kwa yale unayo na kwa kila jambo jema linalotokea maishani mwako. Kuwa na mtazamo wa shukrani husaidia kuona uzuri wa maisha hata katika changamoto. 8. Hudumia Wengine: Kujitolea na kusaidia wengine kunaweza kuleta hali ya kuridhika na furaha ya kweli. Kujua kwamba umechangia kwa njia nzuri katika maisha ya wengine ni jambo lenye thamani kubwa.

JINSI YA KUPATA AMANI YA NDANI KWA KUFANYA TAHAJUDI

By Sylvia Mtenga Tahajudi, inayojulikana pia kama kutafakari, ni zoezi la kiroho na kisaikolojia ambalo limekuwepo kwa maelfu ya miaka katika tamaduni mbalimbali duniani. Zoezi hili linahusisha kumakinika, kuzingatia, na kufikiri kwa kina juu ya hali ya ndani ya nafsi. Katika makala hii, tutachunguza maana ya tahajudi, historia yake, faida zake, na jinsi inavyoweza kuleta mabadiliko chanya katika maisha ya kila siku. MAANA YA TAHAJUDI Tahajudi ni neno linalotokana na lugha ya Kiarabu lenye maana ya kutafakari au kufikiri kwa undani. Kwa Kiingereza, inajulikana kama “meditation”. Ni mchakato wa kuzingatia mawazo, hisia, na mihemko ya ndani kwa lengo la kufikia hali ya utulivu wa akili na ufahamu wa kina. Tahajudi inaweza kufanywa kwa njia nyingi, ikiwemo kukaa kimya, kupumua kwa undani, na kuzingatia sehemu maalum ya mwili au maneno maalum. HISTORIA YA TAHAJUDI Tahajudi ina mizizi ya zamani sana, ikirudi nyuma zaidi ya miaka elfu kadhaa. Imekuwa sehemu ya mila na desturi za dini na tamaduni nyingi, ikiwemo Ubudha, Uhindu, Uislamu, Ukristo, na Uyahudi. Katika Ubudha na Uhindu, tahajudi ni sehemu muhimu ya mafundisho na mazoea ya kiroho, ikiwa na malengo ya kufikia hali ya juu ya utulivu wa akili na mwangaza wa kiroho. Katika Uislamu, tahajudi inajulikana kama “muraqaba”, ambayo inahusisha kumakinika na kufikiri juu ya uwepo wa Mungu. FAIDA ZA TAHAJUDI Tahajudi ina faida nyingi za kimwili, kiakili, na kiroho. Baadhi ya faida hizo ni pamoja na: Kupunguza Msongo wa Mawazo: Tahajudi inaweza kusaidia kupunguza viwango vya cortisol, homoni inayohusishwa na msongo wa mawazo, na hivyo kusaidia kupunguza shinikizo la damu na kuboresha afya ya moyo. JINSI YA KUFANYA TAHAJUDI Kuna mbinu nyingi za kufanya tahajudi, lakini hapa tutatoa mwongozo rahisi wa jinsi ya kuanza: Tafuta Mahali pa Utulivu: Chagua sehemu tulivu ambapo hautasumbuliwa. Kaa kwa Hali ya Utulivu: Kaa chini kwenye mto au kiti, hakikisha mgongo wako umenyooka. Zingatia Kupumua: Funga macho yako na anza kupumua kwa undani. Zingatia pumzi zako, jinsi zinavyoingia na kutoka mwilini mwako. Kubali Mawazo: Mawazo yataingia akilini mwako, ni kawaida. Usiyazuie, badala yake, yakubali na yaruhusu yapite kama mawingu. Fanya kwa Muda Fulani: Anza na dakika 5-10 kwa siku, kisha ongeza muda polepole kadri unavyoweza. Tahajudi ni zoezi la thamani ambalo linaweza kuleta mabadiliko makubwa katika maisha yetu. Kwa kujifunza jinsi ya kutafakari na kuifanya sehemu ya maisha yetu ya kila siku, tunaweza kufikia hali ya juu ya utulivu wa akili, furaha, na ustawi wa jumla. Hivyo basi, tutumie muda kidogo kila siku kwa tahajudi na tuone mabadiliko chanya yanayoweza kutokea katika maisha yetu.

“Action in ignorance only recycles pain”

By Justin Mwita David “It is WRITTEN”“God revealed and it was written and it shall happen as it was written” When Jesus was arrested after being betrayed by Judas, one of His disciples cut the earof a soldier and Jesus rebuked him saying that He could ask God to send angels but Hedid not because it was written that He is captured that way. He also asked the Phariseesthat he was with them all day yet no one arrested him and here they are arresting Himlike a thief, so he said it had to happen as such to fulfill what was written (Mathew 26:5156).It is very important to understand that what was (divinely) written will always happenno matter how we feel about it or how we desire it manifest, it doesn’t matter how andwhat we want, it only matters what God’s will is. The great Harry S. Truman stated, “not all readers are leaders, but all leaders arereaders.” The quote carries multiple layers of context that we should use as a frameworkfor leadership development in every aspect of our personal and professional livesespecially the African youth. Truman knew the power of continuous learning and achievement, which is why hisreading list extends from Benjamin Franklin’s Autobiography to the ancient Stoicstudies of Plato’s Republic. Truman used the power of individual study and learning frompeople’s past mistakes to help him guide his decision making during his two terms as thepresident of the United States, which proved to be a foundational guiding principle formany to follow in his footsteps. Leaders of the 21st-century must learn from the past’s great minds to create a betterfuture. Books allow us to dive into the thoughts of those who lived before us to provideus invaluable information to help us develop solutions for our current problems. 1.) The Past Always Repeats ItselfLeaders are readers because they know they have a lot to learn from those who havelived a life before them. They also know that history repeats itself, usually taking placein a different color, shape, or form of an event. As George Santayana stated, “Those whocannot remember history are doomed to repeat it.” If we decide to neglect the past, we are actively taking steps to avoid a significantamount of information that could change our lives’ future direction. Because as WarrenBuffet said, “It’s good to learn from your mistakes. It’s better to learn from other people’smistakes.” Reading texts, articles, and books about the past can guide our thought processes andcreate a mental road map to solve today’s problems using yesterday’s solutions. Sincethe human brain hasn’t changed for over 40,000 years, it is safe to say we can still learna lot from our ancestors. Our quality of life, dependence on technology, and culturalchanges may have vastly differed from the past, but our inner thoughts and feelings arestill the same. 2.) Reading Changes Our Perspectives of LifeIt’s exciting to read about influential individuals who overcame the odds, lived their lifefrom rags to riches and seemed to defy all conspiring factors going against them. Itappeared as though they were able to overcome every hurdle placed in their way andmaster the game of life. Stories like this inspire us to be a better version of ourselves. No matter what life hashanded you thus far in your journey, history shows us that at some point in time,someone has inevitably had it far worse than you and was able to overcome it. Readinghas the power to vastly change our perspectives of life because it can humble us. Whileour narratives may be unique to us, our struggles and battles against adversity arenothing new to the human race. When we can change our perspective, we’re able to change our future. This conceptgoes even deeper than words of inspiration, as cognitive neuroscientist DonaldHoffman has worked for over 30 years on understanding how our brain’s perceptions ofreality are predominantly false, hiding our true objective potentials for reality.Reading allows us to change our outlook on life, facilitating new ways of thinking,creating, and achieving our life goals. 3.) Our Brains Remodel Through ReadingAs a leader, it is your responsibility to find innovative ways to solve problems and guideyour team to success by any means necessary. Leaders who are continuously learningand acquiring new skillsets understand the importance of being life-long learners.Much like learning a new skill or starting up a new hobby, changing how one performs atask subsequently changes our neural circuits within the brain. Reading keeps our mindactive and healthy. It also strengthens the wiring and connectivity between multipleregions involved in cognition, visuospatial awareness, and higher levels of mentalprocessing. Reading can also change how we interpret language, which can provide significantadvantages in the workplace and our personal lives. It can help us show greater empathytowards others, allowing a higher level of connection and communication within ourteam members and coworkers. And most of the circuits involved with reading areinvolved with verbal language processing and communication, which provides furtherbenefit for team building and connecting with our colleagues. Daily Readers Are The Best LeadersMuch like any activity, the more you do it, the better you become at it. Reading issomething that many may take for granted, but the few who understand the power ofreading are the ones who see the most significant benefit from it. Warren Buffet is said to spend nearly 80% of his day reading and stated he read up to600-1000 pages a day during the early days of his career as he was learning the trade.While this reading volume may be extreme, you don’t need to spend vast amounts oftime reading to get the benefits. By merely reading for 10-15 minutes a day, you will start to rewire your neural circuityand change your brain, which in turn, could vastly change the trajectory of your career.

Hofu ya kuzungumza

By Maureen C. Minanago Hofu ya mwanadamu hutofautiana kwa ukuu. Lakini sote huogopa kwa namna fulani. Hata mwenye nguvu wanamaeneo yao ya unyonge. Tuogope yote lakini tusiogope kusema ukweli inapobidi, na si ukweli tu ila kuzungumza kwa ujumla. Wapo wenye mawazo mazuri sana ambayo yasipokaliwa kimya yanaweza kuleta athari kubwa tu kwa mtu mmoja au jamii nzima.Yamkini ukambadilisha mtu / watu, ukaokoa maisha ya mtu / watu, ukapata msaada ulioukusudia au kuutamani kwa muda mrefu, ukatambulika katika familia, ukoo, eneo, nchi, bara au dunia kwa kusema kwako. Usisite, usikate tamaa, usiogope kusema sababu yule ni mtu mzima, yule ni mkali, yule ni mpole sana, yule haeleweki, yule simuamini. Usihisi labda hivi, labda vile. Sema usikike hata kama utamkwaza, hata kama utamuudhi, hata kama atakujibu vibaya, atakukaripia, atakutukana ama atakukalia kimya. Katika yote, hakika kuna ambalo litamgusa na kumbadilisha japo kidogo. Kama ni cha thamani kiseme…kitaleta mabadiliko!! Kiseme, moyo wako uridhike pia!! Katika sehemu ya tatu, kifungu cha 18 cha Katiba ya Tanzania ya mwaka 1977, tunaona kuwa kila mwanadamu anauhuru wa kuongea / kuzungumza. Kumbe basi, ni wajibu wa kila mmoja kuzungumza kile anachoona ni sahihi, ilimradi tu asiseme uongo wala kuzusha jambo. Usiogope!!

Kila lililokamilika huanza kwa uamuzi wa kujaribu.

By Maureen C. Minanago Msemo wa leo ni wa kutuhamasisha zaidi juu ya uthubutu. Chukua mfano huu mdogo. Umekaa kochini ukatamani maji ya kunywa lakini unaona uvivu kunyanyuka, hutapata maji. Kuna watu ndani unashindwa kuwaomba msaada wakuletee, hutapata maji. Umepata ila ni ya moto unahitaji ya baridi na huchukui uamuzi wowote, hutakata kiu yako. Sasa, unataka kufanikisha mipango yako ambayo pengine hujaanza hata kujipanga, hutaikamilisha. Inatakiwa ifikie wakati ambapo utasimama hata kama umechoka au hujiwezi kufedha au kimwili. Anza safari huku ukiomuomba Mungu, naye atakuimarisha ukiwa njiani na utafika salama. Fanya maamuzi haraka ya wapi uanze ama wapi upite na sio maamuzi ya kuendelea kusubiri. Bora ujaribu ushindwe kuliko usijaribu kumbe unajikosesha faida. Na ukijaribu ukashindwa usikate tamaa haraka, jaribu tena na tena mpaka utakapoona haiwezekani kabisa; ingawaje hakuna lisilowezekana kwa Mungu. Utachelewa lakini sio kushindwa. MAZOEZI SI HAKIKA YA AFYA NJEMA

By Maureen C. Minanago Mazoezi ni muhimu kwa kukuweka mwenye nguvu muda wote lakini maisha unavyoyaishi pia yanachangia katika kukufanya mwenye furaha, mchangamfu na mwenye afya njema. Dr. Denis Nturibi anasema kuna vitu vitatu ambavyo binadamu wote tunapaswa kuvifuata ili kuwa na afya njema. Mazoezi ni sahihi kuyafanya lakini muundo wa maisha (lifestyle) yetu unamchango mkubwa pia. 1. Kula sahihi. Tunapaswa kupata lishe bora kwa maana kwamba tuachane na vyakula ambavyo vinanenepesha hasa vyenye mafuta mengi na sukari nyingi. Tusile sana yaani tule kwa kiwango na kwa muda tu. Kuna watu wanakula kwa siku hata zaidi ya mara nne. Kila unachoona unataka uonje. Basi tujitahidi kujiwekea mipaka yaani nini kiliwe na kwa muda na kiwango gani, Bila kusahau maji ya kunywa (angalau lita moja kwa siku). 2. Pumzika na lala. Tunafanya kazi kupata hela, sawa kabisa. Hata Mungu anatuambia tufanye kazi na ametuweka duniani hasa kufanya kazi bila hivyo hatupati kula. Lakini kila kitu kiwe kwa kiasi. Pata muda wa kutosha wa kupumzika. Kazi nyingi zinatufanya tutumie akili sana katika kufikiria, kusuluhisha na kudadavua mambo kitu ambacho huchosha sana akili na mwili pia.  Lala masaa yanayotakiwa (8-10). Usitumie muda mwingi kuangalia luninga ukakesha asubuhi unaelekea darasani au ofisini. Usisome masaa tisa ukalala kwa saa moja au kuvusha kabisa halafu uingie kufanya mtihani. Pumzika  na lala ili akili pia ipumzike na mwili kwa ujumla. 3. Shughuli za kimwili. Mazoezi ya viungo ni muhimu katika kukufanya mwepesi. Kimbia taratibu (jogging) au tembea kwa mwendo wa haraka kwa umbali kidogo kila siku au walau mara mbili kwa wiki. Hii itakusaidia kukupa pumzi nzuri. Kwa wale waimbaji, sauti yako itapunguza kuhema hema.Kwahiyo, Dr. Dennis anaeleza vizuri kuwa, mazoezi pekee si afya, lishe na kupumzika pamoja na kulala vinasaidia kwa afya bora. Unaweza kuwa na mwili mdogo na wenye nguvu sababu ya mazoezi lakini kama unakunywa pombe sana au unavuta sigara utakuwa na nguvu bila afya njema.Jitengenezee mazingira mzuri ya kuwa na afya muda wote kwani afya njema ndio kila kitu.

Tumbo la kuhara

By Maureen C. Minanago HUDUMA YA KWANZA Ni matumaini yangu hakuna mtu ambaye hajawahi kuumwa tumbo hata siku moja toka azaliwe. Lakini leo naongelea kuvurugwa kwa tumbo. Yawezekana ukawa umepata chakula mchnaganyiko ama vinywaji tofauti ambavyo vikasababisha kuvurugika kwa tumbo. Inawezekana ukawa umetoka sehemu moja kwenda nyingine yaani kubadilika kwa mazingira, hivyo kuhisi umevurugika tumbo. Lakini pia yawezekana ukawa unahofu sana kutokana na kusubiri matokeo fulani kama ya mtihani kimasomo ama majibu ya daktari ama ya usaili wa kazi. Yote haya na mengine mengi husababisha kuvurugika kwa tumbo na mara nyingi kupelekea kutaka kuhara (kuharisha). Mvurugiko huu wa tumbo humfanya mtu kukosa raha na hasa pale anapokuwa nje ya mazingira ya nyumbani ama sehemu iliyo karibu na huduma ya choo. Unachoweza kufanya ni kutafuta dawa ya kuzuia kuharisha kwenye maduka ya dawa yaliyoko karibu na wewe. LAKINI, si mara zote itawezekana kuwa hivyo, basi nini kifanyike unapokosa dawa hizo? Ukiwa nyumbani, chukua sukari na chumvi kisha chota chumvi kijiko kidogo cha chai nusu uweke kwenye kikombe na kiasi hicho hicho chota sukari uweke. Baada ya hapo changanya na maji kidogo sana ili kuepuka kupoteza ladha ya ukali dawa hiyo. Kwa kuwa uliweka kijiko kidogo nusu basi maji yaweke kiwango cha vijiko vikubwa vya kulia chakula vitano au sita. Koroga mchanganyiko wa chumvi na sukari kisha kunywa yote bila kuisikilizia. Tumbo litakata maumivu na dalili za kuhara mara moja. Na kama uliishaanza kuhara basi hali hiyo itaisha. Ukiwa nje ya mazingira ya nyumbani na hujapata msaada wowote wa chumvi na sukari ama dawa, basi tafuta maji safi ya kunywa walau lita moja kisha vuta pumzi ndani na nje kwa nguvu kwa muda wa dakika tatu mpaka tano.

Feasting to Fishing

By Justin Mwita David “A Mindset transformation journey for African youth, shifting from Dependency to Self-Sufficiency” Africa has the youngest population in the world, with over 400 million young people aged between 15 to 35 years. This demographic presents both challenges and opportunities.  The majority of African youth are caught in a dilemma that is both complex and disheartening. They are perceived to be more interested in exploiting a flawed system for personal gain rather than aspiring to build a better society. This perception is based on the metaphorical observation that they chase after those who distribute fish, indicating a preference for immediate gratification (Feasting), and turn their backs on those who want to teach them how to fish (Fishing), symbolizing a disregard for long-term self-sufficiency and societal improvement. The allure of immediate gratification, represented by the distribution of fish, is a powerful force for many young Africans. On the other hand, the disregard for long-term self-sufficiency, symbolized by turning their backs on learning how to fish, reflects a lack of interest in acquiring skills and knowledge that could lead to sustainable success and societal contribution. This mindset has significant implications for society. It perpetuates a cycle of dependency and short-term thinking that hinders societal progress and development. Empowering African youth to transition from dependency to self-sufficiency is a task that requires the collective efforts of various stakeholders and the key to unlocking the full potential of the continent’s young population lies in several areas. African youth aspirations often do not align with the current and projected labor market demands in the region. Despite this, they are increasingly taking an active role in shaping their future, disrupting traditional views of African agriculture, industry, IT, and sustainability. By investing in education, skills development, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and supportive ecosystems, we can unlock the full potential of the continent’s young population. It is time to shift the narrative from one of dependency to one of empowerment, where African youth are equipped with the tools and opportunities to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Regardless of whether you’re an educator, policy maker, parent, or a young individual, your viewpoint is invaluable. Let’s perpetuate this dialogue and collaborate to empower Africa’s youth. The actions we take today have the potential to sculpt the continent’s future. EMPOWERING SECONDARY SCHOOL GIRLS IN DODOMA REGION THROUGH SANITARY PAD DISTRIBUTION

By Happiness Silivester Masatu Empowering secondary school girls in Dodoma Region through sanitary pad distribution is a crucial initiative aimed at addressing menstrual hygiene management (MHM) challenges and promoting girls’ education. Menstrual hygiene remains a significant barrier to girls’ education in many parts of the world, including Dodoma Region, where access to sanitary pads is limited, leading to absenteeism and dropouts among girls. This proposal outlines a comprehensive plan to distribute sanitary pads to secondary school girls in Dodoma Region, thereby empowering them to stay in school and pursue their education. Various initiatives have been implemented by governmental bodies and other relevant stakeholders, such as the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED), African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF), Tanzania Youth Alliance (TAYOA), Population Services International (PSI), and FEMINA, to enhancing menstrual hygiene management for girl students in Tanzania. These programs encompass activities such as raising awareness among female students regarding the management of menstrual hygiene, delivering reproductive health education, and supplying sanitary pads to adolescent females. Despite the implementation of many efforts, Tanzania exhibits a subpar performance in terms of knowledge, attitude, and behavior regarding menstrual hygiene management, with discernible disparities observed between rural and urban regions. This is due to insufficient provision of hygiene products, access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and particularly within educational institutions, which have a detrimental effect on the management of menstruation among adolescent girls. Conduct Needs Assessment of six Schools in Dodoma region: Begin with a comprehensive needs assessment to understand the specific challenges faced by girls regarding menstrual hygiene management in Dodoma Region. Below is a table of findings from a research done in year 2023.
